...But before marrying and settling in Kenya for good, I took a year long trip to India and Southeast Asia, always taking a keen interest in the local people, their customs, and, of course, the local cooking.




Sunset over Okawango Swamps

Back in Africa, I spent a few month in Botswana helping to establish the catering section of a up-market tourist camp in the heart of the Okawango Swamp.


This experience taught me a lot about cooking with fresh (very fresh!) game and crocodile meat-while avoiding the distraction of the lions that some times patrolled the camp at night!
